Dual
Purpose Natural Ventilation & Smoke Ventilators
The
Encon louvre is designed to combine the functions of a roof mounted
natural extract ventilator and a heat and smoke exhaust ventilator.
A multiplicity of control facilities are available.
The Encon louvre has an exceptionally low profile, with a large
free area and maintains good aerodynamic properties.
Control
systems can be designed to suit the requirements of Fire Officers,
incorporating remote panels to over-ride the normal day to day function
and to assist in fire fighting.
Encon louvres can be fitted in any plane - horizontal, vertical
or sloping. In addition to their day to day ventilation function
they also produce additional dalylight and the ventilator base is
individually made to the characteristics of each roof or wall. Internal
drainage channels carry water through opening slots in the base
of the louvre. The louvre blades overlap in the closed position
thereby ensuring virtually no air leakage and complete weather-proofing.
Each louvre blade pivots on stainless steel pins running in nylon
bearings.
Encon
Louvres are available in a wide variety of sizes ranging from 1000
mm wide to 2000mm wide. The length is normally determined by the
constraints of the building structure where it is to be fitted.
Encon
louvres are normally manufactured in mill finish aluminium alloy
to BS1470 NS4H3. At an extra cost they can be supplied in a variety
of British Standard colour finishes. A high seal model is available
conforming to BS4315 Part 1 BSDD4 incorporating a silicone treated
brush pile strip which is applied to seal the small gaps between
the moving parts of the louvre blades. Translucent louvre blades
can also be supplied utilising krystalite double skinned material
