Smoke
& heat vent opening
The smoke and heat vent opening is an effective geometrical,
aerodynamic opening surface. It consists in practice of an electrically
motor operated window, flap or dome. When a fire occurs, these
openings are activated in order to release smoke and heat. |

Electronic
control unit
The
central element is the elctronic control unit, which
processes the incoming signals, sets priorities and
issues commands for the opening of smoke and heat
ventilation openings.
|
|
 |
Wind
& rain sensor
Arising
wind or rain recognized and controlled via the control unit
eg. the retraction of electrically motor-driven sunblinds,
closing or windows or vebtilation openings.
|
Automatic
detector
Automatic detectors enable the rapid and reliable recognition
of conflagration gases and/or temperature development, according
to the type of detector used. Two main types of function are
currently in use: optical (scattered light principle) and temperature
control. |

 |
Ventilation
button
Individual,
natural room air conditions are achieved via the opening and
closing of electrically motor-driven ventilation units.
|
External
fire alarm system
On the one hand, the signal from external fir alarm systems
can be used to open certain smoke and heat vent units, while,
on the other hand, it is possible to send a signal to an external
fire alarm system after triggering, in order to alert fire service
or rescue crews. |
 |
 |
Timer,
Temperature sensor
Convenient
ventilation is achieved by automatic operation of ventilation
openings or windows via opening or closing times, which can
be set by users or by the selection of a constant room temperature. |
Breakglass
unit
Breakglass units (manual alarm switch or push burtton),
are used for manual triggering in emergencies and are required
in addition to automatic detectors. |

Building
management system
Primary
control of smoke and heat vent functions, or control or natural
ventilation via an external command post. |
